ARTIST STATEMENT
A LASTING IMPRESSION SERIES. INK & CHARCOAL ON DIGITAL CANVAS. 2024.
A series of twenty personally memorable scenes across four of my favorite films: Steven
Spielberg’s Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark and his iconic Jaws, Chad Stahelski’s
John Wick: Chapter 4, and my most favorite film, Sam Mendes’ 1917. Each scene was selected
based on its lasting impression and rendered with visual elements as a stylistic life drawing using
digital ink and charcoal. In addition to this medium of choice, it was an artistic decision to use
monochrome colors throughout the project, with some exceptions, to keep cohesion.
